Default removal of spark arrester?

Let me start by saying HI to everyone as this is my first post!

My question is I got a new 2004 scrambler 500 HO and a guy at work said I would get more power by removing my spark arrester as we don't need one in Illinois. I have no mods yet(all stock). Is this true, and if so How do I do it?

Thanks in advanced for any replys!

jimk

some quads it does... others it makes them run really bad... you wont gain much either way...

Just look for a better pipe and you will be much happier!

Can you even remove the spark arrestor on a Polaris??

It wouldnt even be worth the trouble to do it on the scrammy's pipe. Just get an aftermarket

And keep in mind that if you go anywhere out of state riding that most riding "parks" require a spark arrestor.

I'd go aftermarket before just removing it and risking getting that big fine from the cops, chances are slim, but your call.
