Well, I haven't gone riding since 2-19-04. This is because I broke a total of five ribs(Three broke,two fractured) popped a hole in my lung and cut my liver.
Well it's been to long and I have a race season to get ready for,so I going riding In a few hours.
The doctors told me that they are together a bit,but weather they are or aren't I going .They feel o.k and I know I can't push it ,but I'm going to just put around.

I have bought all kinds of new riding gear,helmet,chest protector,pants,knee guards,and goggles.

I'M READY!!

Well I'm o.k!! I rode for 4 hours and nothing hurts!!! I didn't go crazy but, i did ripp it up hard. The ribs only botherd me when I hit a little jump .so, I stayed away from the jumps.I guess it's on from hear on in!!!!
After 8,000.oo dollars in hospital bills and a whole lot of drugs I'm happy that can still ride
Anyway ,my insurance Paid the whole hospital bill and I don't need the drugs. also I went to work last week(light work easy stuff)so i figured--IF I CAN GO TO WORK I CAN RIDE!!!

 

well go back out and ride for another 4 hours!! i went riding yesterday and the tb was rippin but it came out with a few battle wounds[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img]

 

Way to go Matt! - just like riding a horse and getting thrown - you've got to get back on, not just to show who's boss, but for your own mental benefit (for the life of me, I can't remember of the "technical" word for this right now), and it may hurt for a bit, but my theory is the enjoyment of riding is better than any pills or therapy.

Keep it up and you'll be back up to snuff in no time - - and be careful [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

BING,Been there had that already. My doctor said thatmy ribs are all healing together fine(even though I sill feel them)--Yesterday they didn't seem to move at all while riding---they didn't hurt---and all went well.
AS a Matter of fact--I had one of the best days ever riding yesterday.
That just goes to show that you don't need to ump everything to have a great time riding--I just went Riding around fast,kinda track style. I did well,so,Now I'll get back to getting Into shape for some local Races(mx-cc).

I feel good today --NO soreness--I can't believe I'm back!
