I'm new into four-wheeling and im looking to get started. I've got a 2001 Polaris Scrambler 500 2x4 and I'm some what disapointed in the top speed and acceleration. Maybe its just me but I think It is cabable of going much much faster with some adjustments. Its completely stock from bumper to tail pipe and that needs to change. Any info on what to buy or where to buy it would be extremly helpful. Please Help me.... Thx

 

Speed costs money! How much do we have to spend? lol [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] . Clutch kit, roller secondary, pipe, jet kit, K&N, etc will get you started. HI comp. piston, cam, stroker, 600 kit, 628 kit all would go even faster.

 

Someone e-mailed this link to a scrambler speed kit from Hot seat and im wondering if its worth the money? I lied earlyer... the rear has a fox shock![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img] thx-

 

Well, the rear Fox shock is standard eqpt. on the 99(?)-03 scrams. With that said, IMO the Hot Seat speed kit is not worth the money. You can get the same (even better) parts seperately for less than the Hot Seat kit. Not to mention, I have heard of a few quality issues with Hot Seat's exhausts systems. JMO

don't mess with Hot Seat, its all pretty much junk...

For real power gains at a cheaper price go with HPD.. HPD

When i had my scrambler, i had a HPD pipe clutch kit,and K&N the power gain was unreal! with the flick of the throttle the front end would come up...

 

the best bang for your $$ will be from HPD.

 

Ok well what would you guys suggest for...well lets say not to much of a dent in th already dented wallet [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] kinda low after i got this!

 

K&N ($32) and Outerwears ($10) from Rocky MT ATV should be first things on your list. Next come the clutch kit. HPD has a nice aggressive clutch kit for $155. You have your selection when it comes to pipes. You can either get a slip-on muffler or full exhaust. For full exhaust, you have HPD, Hot Seat, Supertrapp, DG, and Pro Circuit. Slip-ons you have Aaen, White Bros, and FMF. Stay away from DG and FMF when it comes to exhaust for Polaris'. The White Bros is a really nice slip-on. The HPD is about the best for a full exhaust, however it doesnt come with a spark arrestor (if that matters to you)
