Default Fuel mileage on 04.5 500 HO

I'm getting ready to head up to McCoy & Hatfields in May. Can anyone tell me what kind of mileage they have been experiencing on their 04.5 500 HO? Also has anyone had trouble with their fuel readings on the display?
I filled up yesterday and rode about 13 miles and it still said full. I took the cap off and it was obvious that I had 3/4 or less.

I’ve found my gage readings show only 1/4 and empty with any connect to reality, I just make sure to refuel when it starts to show 1/4. Seams like i can drive about 4 to 5 hours on a tank of gas ... but I’ve only bin riding on my property and short trails.

I have ridden about 55 miles(not all easy riding) before my fuel light starts to flash. After that they say you can go an extra ten miles or so.I have never ran out before, so I am not sure of actual mileage. When I refuel for the next ride ,it shows that I have a little less than a gallon of fuel.I would assume I could go close to 70 miles on a tank, but I would not try it with out extra fuel with me.I hope this helps!
Later!

I have gotton 100 miles per tank (19 mpg = 5.25 gallon tank) while crusing long distances on trails. BUT, if I am mudding or climbing realling steep hills the milage on my machine drops to about 10mpg. You can easily plan for 50 miles per tank and have a comfortable reserve.

Have any of you guys noticed that you get better or worse mileage depending on the majority of your riding being in low or high gear? Here in the mountains I generally have to stay in low gear and have allot of short bursts of speed due to the terrain.

I initially wasn't worried about mileage I was going to use it primarily for hunting. And then my wife got interested in trail riding with me and she wanted an atv. So now we have planned trips together.

I double checked and the entire 04.5 Sportsman class holds 4.75 gallons.

I have noticed my gas guage isn't close at all When there is 3/4 tank it still shows full. It will show 1/4 tank even when I can't see any in the tank. I would say its off 1/4. Dobie

2004 has 5.25 gal tank. 2004.5 has 4.75 tank.

I have run my 2004 500HO out of gas once. I got 90 miles on a tank (that is before I kicked in the reserve). 2004.5 don't have the reserve.
