600 sportsman cold weather
#1
I have had my bike for almost a year now.I had trouble this winter with it starting and running.I talked with my dealer and they suggested tha I raise the needle valve up one clip,it seemed to work.I have recently heard about a carb kit from polaris just wondering if it solves these problems or do I have to play with the needle valve every spring and fall.Any input would be great!

the update isn't an official bulletin from Polaris, it was a technical note for the dealers to fix 600 and 700's with cold start problems. If it was a bulletin they would notify everyone. I think Polaris will cover the costs if you are having trouble though. Your dealer should be aware of this, it was really a kit just some adjustments and a few parts for the carb to make it run better in cold weather. If they aren't aware of this have them call polaris and ask.

I got the update done on my 600 2 weeks ago and haven't been able to take it out yet. I did drive it around my neighborhood after I got it home and it seemed to improve the throttle response and it didn't need to warm up at all. And to answer your other question Polaris did pay for the whole thing. Just call your dealer and tell him you're having issues and that you heard of bulletin #A-03-09-00. They'll contact Polaris and get it all approved. Good luck!
