Default POLARIS 2001 SPORTSMAN 400: Good Buy?

This could possibly be our first fourwheeler (our family). I have found the Polaris's very attractive lately, and I found one for sale on the side of the road coming home from Wal-Mart !

Specs are:
2001 Sportsman 400 4x4
1400 (approx.) miles
200 hours
2000 lbs. Warn Winch
NO Shift-On-The-Fly system
Automatic

PRICE IS: $4,200.

So, my question is this: Is this a good buy?? I figured a 2001 is perfectly ok for my first. It is in GREAT condition with minor scrations.. EXTREMELY small rusts spots on the wheels, but that is general wear'n'tear. The muffler is rusty.. but again.. general wear'n'tear.

Good buy or not?

I think you could likely do better. I guess if it's in really good shape it's a fair deal. Just my 2cents. I bought my 1998 Sp500 with 1000 miles for $2800 (needed tires)

So is it 1400 miles, 200 hours? or the other way around? I just got a 2000 Sportsman 500, good shape with 418 hours and 1100 miles for $3600.

Uffda, that seems high to me... I would say $1000 less then that.
I thought all Polaris' were shift on the fly's??? They were back in 95 when I was riding them anyway.
