Default Chain troubles already....

Well, I greased the new Blazer this morning after giving it a good, muddy break-in this weekend, and I was tightening the chain up and got it so there was a 1/4 of play or so. I rolled it forward and then the chain was so tight I couldn't hardly move it, and rolled it forward some more and it had almost a 3/4 inch of play. What the hell is up with that? Just part of the chain not stretching, or could it be defective? Anyone ever have this problem? Do you suppose the dealer would replace it? Thanks!!

The first time the chain was probably just tight from being rolled back, then you rolled it forward and it came to its origional looseness. Normal happenings.

Check your swing arm bolts they sometimes don't get tightend enough at the factory. I have seen them come loose and cause this.
It's a good idea to keep a eye on them after every couple of rides if they do come loose it don't take long to oval the hole where they go through the frame.
