If you're buying a Scrammy to go really fast, you're wasting money.....buy a true sport bike
If you're wanting to go pretty d*mn fast on a pig through stuff that would choke a sport bike....buy a Scrammy
If you want to wait on the big utes at the mudholes before following them through it....get a Scrammy
If you want to do nac-nacs and get big air....get a true sport bike.
Granted the older 2strokes are somewhat faster but still heavy.

reminds me of a time when I was pulled over for speeding, I was in the work truck 83 toyota 4x4 4 cylinder 200k miles, the cop tpld me Ii was clocked at 87 and this was going uphill with a small load, I told him the only way this truck will do 87 is if you throw it out of an airplane, needless to say I received the ticket!

Mine is a 2004 all stock and I rode it down a road by my house to get to a trail and the speed limit is 55 and I kept up no problem so I would say around 60-65 would be tops. Do you really want to go faster than that on a quad? I was on a paved road, but on a trail you hit a bump or rock going 60 you may be done riding for the rest of your life, and im sure you didn't buy a quad to ride on the roads!

Yes I do want to go more than 60 mph on a quad, and not on a road. I try not to hit rocks when I'm flying down the trail doing 60, that's called being under controll, by the way. My scramblers top speed is just over 60, its a good exploring machine, with enough power to be interesting, but if I'm going to go fast I get on my ds-650.
