I got a ? for anyone that has an idea on what to do,in the summertime when it warms up the exhast on the right side of my sportsmen gets your legg pretty warm is their anything a person can do to keep the heat of of your legg? I was thinking of geting some stuff like you rap headers on a car or truck to mybay try any ideas would be nice.

 

Hmm, not often you wish you were a one-legged man..[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] If you can get something that tends to reflect the heat, over an insulating medium like fibreglass it should work. Metalized duct insulation comes to mind, but I don't know if it'll stand the heat of the exhaust.

 

You can have your header "Jet Hot" coated. It is supposed to reduce the temp of the header by up to 50%

I put the header wrap on mine, It worked great. One note, Make sure you Re-check your jetting because you are holding more heat in the pipe, so you could go lean.

 

The problem with header wrap is it holds moisture in and will rust out your exhaust. That's why the package says it will void header warranties. I put some heat reflecting tape (like for wrapping fuel or tranny lines) on the inside of the plastic that covers the exhaust, and I noticed a difference. Plus its easier to put on. You just take the plast shroud off and tape the stuff on the inside, instead of fighting to get the wrap wrapped around the pipe and then having to get hose clamps on it to keep the ends from un wrapping them selves.
