well 10 mos old and 85 hours, tranny on my magnum is blowing what looks and smells like burnt gear oil out the vent tube, tranny fluid is burnt that bad..out of warranty at 6 mos but i had to try..they said bring it in and we`ll see what we can do as we want to keep customers happy..mechanic said it might be the bearing on the input shaft, which might be why my belt is rubbing the cover, hmmmmmmm i dunno..any other similar horror stories with the trannies? bike also has the infamous worn tie rod ends.and a complete set of brake pads.im hoping they pay as i know i didnt abuse the machine..i have heard polaris is good about these issues, hope its true

Maybe your dealer will come thru for you. Its hard to find a dealer that truely does practise what they preach when it comes to customer service.

Otherwise it sounds like an expensive visit to your dealer.

good luck

well i spoke with the dealer and he said he tries to get anything that is not abuse to be warrantied.. i also told him i didnt want it fixed, only diagnosed and for the dealer and polaris to dtermine what they will warranty..if they dont warranty it ill take it back and fix it myself and probably trade it in,it`ll only cost me 110.00 for 2 hours labor if they wont warranty it..i work for an auto tranny shop so i can take care of it myself..only reason im trying warranty is that i dont think that at 85 hours and 10 mos old no name brand polaris or otherwise should have these major problems. my fault for not getting the extended,i guess i had to much faith in the product,ha,ha on me

At least you have a dealer that is trying to work with you. There are too many dealers that wouldn't work with you since your past the warrenty period.

I can relate, I never purchase an extended warrenty on anything, whether is a computer, automobile, or ATV.
