700 EFI Sunk but still runs like new "BAD As?"
#1
While riding my new 700 EFI in Wesson, Mississippi, I crossed a pond once and when I did it a second time I ended up in about 5' of water. This bike does not float. It was sitting on the bottom. All BS aside, you could not even see the handle bars. It stayed submerged for 5 or 6 minutes. After getting it out I pulled the plugs and drained the belt and air breather and she fired right up. It did not even sputter. Of course I have since changed all my fluids (several times). I was concerned about the computer and fuel injection system but I have not had any problems. I currently have 26" 589 but I want to put 28" ITP 589's. Will the 28" tires fit with out a lift kit. Please respond because I plan on buying these 28's shortly.....Thanks

Wow the 700 EFI does do well under water! I have been watching several forums and all I hear are great things about the new EFI 700 Sportsman. I am a fan of my 500 HO but maybe Polaris improved the 700 enough for an upgrade???

He has had the 700 EFI for a couple months now.. has over 600 mile on it. It's a GREAT bike but there are / were a few things wrong with it... One was a hesitation when you got the hammer down off the line (still needs to be looked at) adn about 2 weekes ago his fuel line started to leak. I guess the way it was routed it was rubbing on the frame with no protection , it wore a pin hole through and spewed gas everywhere. The one other thing is that it has gone through 2 belts already. Both blew at high speed on a long run (over 5 miles mostly wide open). He still has to get that looked at as well.
Other then those few things he loves the bike and I would buy one , no question. All though I may wait for a year till the buggs are out!
