o yeah and what type of oil filter are you guys running?

 

You'll want to use the motorcycle specific 10w-40 in anything with a wet clutch. The 0w-40 Formula 4-stroke is good to go in your quad.

 

like said above.. you need to make sure its a motercycle oil... if so then its ok for wet clutches...
and i use 10-40 because when i checked my oil with the ps4 while it was hot... it was as thin as water... with the other stuff... it was thicker... thats why they recommend using a higher weight oil in the summer...

 

Be sure the oil does not contain friction modifiers if you're running it in the wet clutch set-up. Otherwise, the bike will not move[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img].

 

the amsoil 4 stroke 10-40 & 0-40 DOES NOT contain any friction modifiers. I called amsoil tech support and they told me they did test on the ps-4 and that the 10-40 or 0-40 would be perfect. i also use amsoil 10-40 in my kids transmision on his rm 65 and have never had a problem. I also use redline water wetter in my coolant on all of my bikes and atvs and it made a huge change in how many times the fan would kick on.

 

do you know what the part # is for the amsoil oil filter for an 04 predator? thanks..

 

I was told only to use PS-4 oil in your 2003 Predy, if you dont want tranny proplem. Any truth to this?

 

I use Torco T-4MXR in my 03 pred w/Scotts filter and have had zero tranny problems. And it shifts great; a lot better than the PS-4.
