Default Some RcR Stage 1 kit questions

Ok, i want to get a RcR Stage one kit, but i have a few questions.

1. Is this kit REALLY worth the $$?

2. Will it be OK to run this kit w/ a stock piston, etc? (i dont want to have too much stress on the cheap stock parts)

3. Can I still use a K&N filter, or will the jetting be wrong, or will it not work w/ the kit?

4. Will i have to remove my pipe leg guard for the pipe, because i dont want to burn my leg[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]?

1. yes it is if u want to gain 8 more hp!

2. yes u can i still run my stock piston wit porting. im planning on puttin the wiseco in when i get the parts to fix my rear end!![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img]

3. yes u can just ask rick for jets to jet the carb accordingly

4. no u want but it is a tight fit. buy some stuff to keep the heat down, but either way teh plastic will get hot! look at my pipe guard, it actually keeps teh temp of the pipe down!

Default Some RcR Stage 1 kit questions

Mine came with a K&N filter. New jet is included. Yes it is worth it. Now if I could just get the wife talked in to one on her Blazer.

Default Some RcR Stage 1 kit questions

The stock piston will probably work ok with a pipe but I'm not sure I would trust it if you were going to port it. The stock pistons are cast and the skirts tend to break causing some REAL problems. You can get a Weisco piston on ebay for around 75.00 shipped. Just cheap insurance. I have the HPD pipe and it really made a big difference over stock. Rick sells HPD stuff too.

Default Some RcR Stage 1 kit questions

i was not planning to do any porting, but i wanted to know if i needed to get a new piston, because i didnt know if the stocker could handle it. I think i might get a Wiseco anyways, just in case. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
