Default Got the 400 scram back together and it Runs !!

All the new or moded parts except for the clutch are installed. I was told it would be better to install the clutch kit after break in. The pipe sounds so much better then the stock pipe. I am using the stock silencer at least for awhile. I am running for 10 min. then let cool down , 10 min. then let cool down until a hour of run time. After 1 hour retorq head and jug and break in for two or three more hours. Does anyone who has been thru this have any better break in procedures or any other advice ? Using Polaris plain blue oil 32:1 main jet #320 pilot #35 needle clip next to bottom slot with washer. Rick said I might foul plug during break in. So far so good. I will try to get some pics up of the mods. Thanks everyone for your help and thank you duneaholic for the help with the airbox mod.

I always putty-chug around for a while, and slowly accelerate to almost full throttle, then slowly deccellerate, then back up, and back down. Everyone always has a different approach to break in. When you get some time, could you please tell how the bored carb works, if you can tell through the other mods? I noticed it's a helluva alot cheaper then a bigger carb.....Thanks!!!

This is a pretty good article on break in procedures.

That was interesting but should you use the same method on a 2-stroke mine will be back together on Saturday

that cool, you might ran some gas tank with the polaris then switching to synthetic should helpt a bit after brake-in,,drop some klotz assembly oil mixing in,,it help to better seal the piston's rings,,energy release also run great in those iron, you won't beleive it when you put the clutch kit on that a pretty strong importance now.

That was a great read Ced, but like hawleywood I wonder if the same applies to two strokes. I got it up to temp and rode pretty easy the first 10 min. a little more thottle the next, so on and so on. I'm sure jetting is off (fat) or the stock clutch is wrong for this setup. Fasternu I can't really tell right now how the carb bore is working yet. My last ride yesterday I was getting on it pretty good for short bursts. It is raining here right now so I might not get to do any break in tonite. I just got home from work and I'll get out to take some pics and get them up. Thanks guys.
