WATER SPASHES SPORTSMAN STOPS RUNNING?

WHEN I GO INTO DEEP WATER MY SP STOP RUNNING . IT TAKES A 1 TO 2 MINITES THAN IT STARTS AND RUNS . WHATS THE BEST WAY TO FIX THIS . THANKS DAN 96 SP 500.

Re water proof your terminal board under the light pod and also the plug cap and coil.

Take nygel or dielectric greese and put it on every terminal on the board and on the connectors. plus the coil wire and plug cap also check your grounds they maybe are loose and shorting out with the water.

Jamie, where do I buy this type of grease? Where are my grounds located?

Go to an outo parts store and get it it is exoensive so brace yourself, Get the big tube you will need it.

Save yourself the hassle. Your problem is in the faulty check valve in your carborater. Plug the drain line before you go into water again and this will not happen. I posted a topic a few months ago.

What year is your bike? Mine used to die when splashed because of it's cheap paper air filter got wet.
