if you do the climbing with your scramblers, a cheap and easy way would be a gearing change. you can go further with it and get a low-end pipe, low end clutching, gearing change, and a K&N for more power everywhere.

If you climb with sportsmans, or anything with shaft drive, you cant make gearing changes.

Default Mountain climbin 500 Sportsman.. question?

I do almost all the climbing with the Sportsman....Would a differant helix angle help? or lighter weights?

How much will a pipe and air filter give a 4 stroke?

Thanks

Get yourself a Heelclicker clutch kit for that Sportsman. You arent going to see any real gains from a K&N, just the fact that you wont have to buy a new air filter ever again. A pipe will give you a little more low end torque, but nothing astonishing. You best bet would be a clutch kit, like the Heelclicker which seems to work best with the utility machines

dont change your gearing on your scrambler. that will only bring trouble (asuming it is 4x4) that will mess up the difference between the front and rear tires.
