Hey guys I just got back from going ridin with one of my buddies(who doesnt have a quad, he borrowed the trailblazer, but hes gettin ready to get a z400. Thanks for listining [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] LOL) OK here is what happened:

We got the 4wheelers to the place, It had just rained and there was alot of mud and water everywhere, along with some really good-sized hills. We rode for about 30 minutes in mud, about a foot deep or so water steep hills, when all of a sudden the predator just died and wouldnt start back up. It would start up every now and then with the choke on, but as soon as I gave it any gas or took the choke of it would die. It had compression, and the battery for the electric start was very strong. It also had plenty of gas. My friend went to go get a chain to pull the pred back to the truck with a chain, but after about a minute I see him walking back to where I was saying the trailblazer dies right in some water, about 8 inches deep. It wouldnt start, there was plenty of compression and gas, and it woulnt start with the electric or pull start. So we had to go get his truck and go get them and go home.

Does anyone know whats wrong??? This really pi$$e$ me off, especiallyabout the not-even-a-month-old predator.

I think maybe there is some water in the carbs, I mean water was going everywhere when we were goin thro the water. If anyone knows whats wrong could you please explain what I need to do to get them running again and if there is anything I can do to prevent this from happening again.

PS The pred is a monster in the mud when it works!

all i have to say is take it back to the dealer and ask him what the hell is wrong. i wouldnt take that. 8 inches isnt that deep i dont think it would get in the carb for any reason

 

Last time i heard of this issue i think it was the clear tubing running down from the carb on the pred. If the hoses drop below the water level it would cause the pred to stall. The other people that talked about this said that they just re-routed the tubes higher in the frame to solve the problem. As for the tb I guess it could be the same thing. These tubes might have put water in the carb. Try draining the bowls and try again.

 

pull the spark plugs out see if there is water on the electrode. if you see water then crank the engine over with the plug out. dry the plug by heating over the flame on a gas stove or maybe a propane torch or even a lighter. water droplets on the plug will stop you evry time.

Did you notice water in the air box or air filter?

 

No I diddnt notice any but I didnt do a good check...just like of a glance.

 

Seems a little suspicous that they both go. Have you pissed anyone off recently? Could you have gotten some bad gas?

 

the pred will stall out in 6 inches of water due to the clear vent hose like Sceiks said.
all you need to do is cut it shorter or run it elsewhere...
