Advice on Scrambler 500 Pipe/ intake/ clutch
#1
Hi Guys,
I've got a stock 2001 Scrambler 500 4x4 . I use it for trail riding mostly , but want more power. First let me say I know nothing about jetting , clutches, on these machines, but I do have a repair manual & am a mechanic. For a pipe I want something that is well built , spark arrested for parks, good looking & gives good power gains without taking out a mortgage. As for the intake, I'm going to a K&N, but how much more will I gain by going for the modified air box & which air box is best ? For the clutches , I'm not unhappy with the stock setup, but want something that won't be torn up when I do these mods, however I've never ridden a scrambler with anything other than a stack clutch so maybe I don't know what I'm missing, LOL ! Also, do the performance CDI boxes really help performance or not ? Last of all, who can I trust to give good advice & buy these parts from ? Sorry for being long winded .
Thanks,
Don

White Bros E-Series is you best bet for a spark arrested slip-on. For intake go for the K&N and HPD air box/carb mod. Good for about 2hp and better throttle response. While you are at it, pick up an HPD aggressive clutch kit as well. Or, you can have Rick put together a custom kit for you. Rick (RCR) carries all these products and can set you up.

Dttio on whar BBS said but I would call RcR and get a custom clutch setup. You tell Rick what you want out of your quad and he will set you right up.He pushs Dalton clutches and from what I have seen and heard about them they are worth the extra$$$$ the helix is Billet alluminoum instead of cast.
