Here's the thing. I installed 26" mudrunners on my Xplorer and I need a set of tires for when the riding is swift and bumpy. The mudrunners just always hit my fenders and I can't ride hard anymore.(35 mph and less!) I will keep them for spring and fall.

What 25" tires do you all suggest? I was thinking of stockers, but they cost about as much as better after market tires. I would still like a bit wider than stock in the rear but maybe the same up front. The smoothest ride possible with great traction. Would 25" mud tires be as annoying as the 26" ones, smooth ride?

Give me your suggestions!!!

Usually everyone want "wicked a$$" tires. The biggest and the baddest! In my case it's the opposite. Give me something. I was thinking of the stock tires off the Sporstman?!

Instead of new tires why not just put stiffer springs in the front prt # is 7041450-067 24.75 each or for 12 bucks use the spring spacers I use them with 26 " mudrunners and never touch the fenders. Are your struts bad that will cause it to happen.

Wouldn't stiffer springs make for a really harsh ride Jaime? How much do they go for about? I know that the struts cost up and over 200$ each canadian!

I just reread your post...24$ per spring only!!

Would stiffer springs really help because the tires actually hit towards the back. Right in front of my toes... I already have the rubber spacers. Have had the 26" for only 3 months and they rub more and more! The ride is really starting to suffer.

I have the 12 dollar spring supports on my SP, and they help! Ride is still good too. Give them a try, at twelve bucks you can't go wrong. Ride'em Hard Polcat

Hi xplorer,

1. check the air pressure in your front tires. If its too high, let some air out. It can stop the rubbing but only if you have too much air and can let some out.

2. I bought from high lifter, there progresive lift heavy duty front springs. They come with the heavy duty springs which you may not really need. but they come with cams which will raise up the front end body about 1 and 1/2 inchs possible. Maybe they would just sell you the cams to install under your stock springs? I paid 150.00 for the full set. They work. This is what I did on
my xped. when I went to 26 inch mud bugs tires.

I already tried the air pressure reduction. Thinking of shaving inside of mud guards but the tires rub more and more. I like the idea of the cams. Those are like cylindrical spacers above and below the springs, right? Maybe I will try and make some...they seem reasonably simple enough on some pics I have seen in here.

I still wonder if the stiffer springs would keep the tires from bumping backwards??? That would be even easier.

The front suspension shouldn't let your tires go towards the rear of the quad. Since you say it's getting worse it sounds like something in the front end is wearing out. I'd check all mounting points. Like the upper strut and lower A arm bushings...
