My machine is about to slip beyond the factory warranty! I recieved info from Polaris on their POLARISTAR PROTECTION PLUSOPTIONAL SERVICE PLAN. Now my dealer says not to buy it and to use theirs (obviouly more $$$ in their pocket)
QUESTION......which plan are you folks using and how good is it???

thanks and enjoy!! Jim

Gotta agree with 3TV. Have never bought an extended warranty on anything, and never will.

Statistics show that mechanical, electrical, and electronic failures resulting from defective components, will occur very early in the life of a product. ie. if its gonna break due to manufacturing defect, its gonna happen soon after it goes into use.

The sale of extended warranties by car manufacturers, big boy toy manufacturers, Sears etc, etc etc, are huge money makers for the manufacturers and dealer. Statistics show they are a waste of money for us.

This is not to say some have benefitted from extended warranties, but most don't. For most of us it would be better to leave the high cost of the extended in our pockets and spend the money on the small repairs that do come up.

3TV is bang on in saying that very little is actually covered by the extended warranties.

My opinion, not worth it, ever.

Another thing about extended warranty's or even your first 6 months warranty, is if you put any mods on your atv then your warranty is: NULL AND VOID! How many people in this forum have mods on there atv. It sure seems like almost anybody. Even
my 26 inch mud bug tires by maxxis would kill my warranty. My dealer just told me today because I called them for another reason and this info. came
up. What most people do then is keep there atv stock untill the 6 mo. is up and then go crazy buying this and that. Of course a k&n filter dont expire the warranty but almost every other mod does. rangerchet, 2000 polaris xpedition 425 cc 5-speed and no warranty.

mods: front and rear 2-round bar bumpers. 2000lb. warn winch in front. short extender bar on the front storage rack. two gun, gun rack mounted on that. tall extender bar on the back storage rack. a tamarrack utility box that fits nicely inside this. 26 inch mud bug tires by maxxis with itp magnum billet alluminum rims. extended mud skirts.
for the front, the progressive lift heavy duty springs/cams. k&n air filter.
