I just picked up a new scrambler 400 on Friday. I have a couple of questions that I have not found much info on. It seems to bog really bad if I give it full throttle at a lower rpm. I can even get it to die. The dealer said this is because of the first tank of premix that is in it. I have gone through that tank and am now on straight gas and it still does it. Anyone else have this problem. The other thing that I would like to find out is what kind of aftermarket suspension is out there for it. There is plenty of info on engine mods but not much on suspension. I bottom out on even medium sized jumps. I weigh 185 so maybe I need to set it up for my weight. Any info would be great.

I bought a 400 about a month and a half ago and had no problems with it. This doesn't sound normal and I would definitely take it in and have it looked at. As far shocks, I don't know of any aftermarket suspension for polaris quads except for Hot Seat rebuild kits. I would like to to put new suspension on as well because of the bottoming out problem.

Im not sure about the Bog problem, It may be jetting related, Possibly the choke is not adjusted correctly. I have a 2000 scrambler and it has no bog.

I think the best option for the front shocks are the new struts out by Works. As was quoted to me by them in an email reply, "they are air adjustable, rebiuldable, more aggressive and just plain old a whole lot better". I think some one here on the forum has a set of them. He would know if they really work as good as they say. A front tire up grade is supposed to help handling alot also. Im trying to figure out which ones to get now. GJ

Thanks for all the info. I'll talk to the dealer tomorrow and see what they have done for jetting maybe it is off. It runs great other than the bogging down low. I'll give works a call and see what the new struts cost and what info they have on them. Thanks again
