Default Tips for a New SP700 owner!

Just bought an 03 SP700 with winch and plow. It has 1400 miles on the odo.

Anything I should be aware of?
Look for?
Anything I can do to upgrade and better it's performance?

Do they all vibrate like hell? This one sure does.....

Thanks!!

Sure hope you have better luck with your 03 700 than I did.

The 600 and 700s in our group ( a total of 3 700s, 3 600s) have all been fine. 98% are fine. They are the number 2 seller of ATVs for a reason (just behind Honda, and above Yamaha). I suppose a Honda MIGHT (and that is a might) be more reliable, but will you be able to do as much... look at the the specs (and I assume you did since you bought one). So have fun, drive it, and be safe. You have a good machine.

if you're looking to improve performance check out hotseatperformance.com they have a 700 speed kit for $650. i would like to try it but don't want to spend that much money. i just put in a clutch kit. it gives decent performance. things to watch? keep an eye on the water pump seal, that problem was supposed to be solved by 03 but mine leaked a little, no big deal. i see you live in a van down by the river....if it gets cold there you may have problems with backfiring. there is an update to do on the carb to help this, your local dealer should be able to do it for you. i like mine, and haven't had any probems with it other than running like crap when cold (about 35 degrees or colder). Have fun with it, it will go through alot of stuff and will wheelie in low gear too!

I have an 03 700 that all the sudden started running crappy. Started looking into it with some help from here found a bracket that holds the carb that has 2 rubber mounts. One was pulled all the way out both were severly cracked. Talked to dealer suggested I bring in for carb updates so there it is as of this afternoon. It ilso is very cold blooded. Can't wheelie mine. Plugs are a bugger to get at. Milage sux but otherwise happy. Lots of power for pulling.

Thanks for the input guys. I don't get the machine until this Wed. I'm a "bigger is better" kinda guy.. I ride an 01 Tcat in the winter and love it!, I expect I can deal with whatever downside the SP700 throws at me.....

I hope!!
