ignition switch bypass? trail blazer 400
#1
went riding today, we drove an hour to get to our spot, and wouldnt you know it, my buddy forgets his key to his '03 TB400. we spent a while trying to figure it out how to basically hot wire the damn thing. then everyone we were with got tired of waiting so we proceeded to go riding with out him. poor guy.
anyone know how to bypass the key switch? i think knowing this would come in handy for the next time he forgets.

Not a great Question to be asking, especially wth you bieng new here. Every one here wont tell ya if they do know how as you never know if you are a theif....yes, sad but true, but think about it. The solution is always have a spare key hidden[ty strapped] on your machine, or on Your truck. I know its a lesson hard learned but that life!

yes i do suppose you have a point.
but just so everyone feels better, am not a thief.
but this was an honest question, about an honest situation. i'm sure this has happened a time or two to just about every atv'er out there.
i believe it is information that every owner should know about their own machine.

Well i know on the polaris sleds...infact i had to this ealier this year....had a little miss hap with my key on the 97 xcr, all you have to do is un hook the the plug in the back of the key switch, granted it dosnt have electric start,.....i dont know if its any differant, i just had to do it a few times on sleds...thats all...
and i think it worked on the older atvs, because something tells me someone took the key outta my old cyclone i had, and i did it to that and it fired up, but that didnt have electric start either....i dont know if it would have any signifigance...but ya never know
