Air Box Mod for the pred?

Default Air Box Mod for the pred?

I have 6 uni-vents that I want to Install In my air box. Has anyone done this mod to ther pred? And if so do you have any pics or suggestions On Where to place the vents correctly? I need some help before I cut my box to s%it........Thanks guys

Default Air Box Mod for the pred?

Back when I did that mod, I just lined them up on the rear face of the box. I think I only installed 5 of the 6.

Thanks ken did you have a jetting recomendation on this set-up? I think I am at 0 to 6,000 ft elevation I live In the southeastern part of wisconsin

Default Air Box Mod for the pred?

I didn't use any univents, not really sure what those are, but I was told to drill 3 or 4 1" holes in the back of the airbox....of course this kinda leaves your box pretty open too, but it sure increases the power!!! I just drilled 3, but to do 4...drill 3 across the top and one in the center, below the others. Make sure when you drill to check and see if you are below the line where the filter sits/seals.

At the same time, I took the carb to Doug and he did his "special" thing to it.....it really makes it run great and it is a LOT more responsive. It seems like I use all of the possible throttle too. I love that mod the most. He also rejetted it, and maybe changed the pilot jet in his tune up too. So....I'm not sure what jet I have in it as of now.....I was thinking like a 167.5 or 170....but not for sure.
