Default Front end problems...

when i have been riding for the last week or so, i have noticed my front end seems quite loose or something.. i ride in trails that i can go quite fast on, but in some spots it is QUITE rooty and rocky, but i never slow down, just rip over them. when i have been hitting these spots lately, its hard to explain, but it feels like the front shocks are really soft and the front makes some strange clankky loose noises (i know, good explaining) is it possible that my shocks have had it? i have new tie rod ends, if this makes a difference. But, if my shocks are bad, can they be rebulit, or will i have to buy new ones? how much will they cost.

Do they leak oil at all? If you bounce it up and down, does it make that sound? If your front struts are blown, you have a few options as the stockers are NOT rebuildable. Hot Seat sells some FOX struts that are rebuildable and revalaveable.. You also have Works struts as well that are rebuildable and revalveable. Both run around the $250 range. Hot Seat also sells some OEM replaceable Kimplex struts for around $130 I believe

i will have to go do some troubleshooting in a few minutes, because i havent tryed bouncing it. Im assuming the Works shocks are about $250 A PIECE, not a pair, right?

you need a 3/4" wrench and use a 3/8" socket.take your front plastic off and look at where the strut comes through the upper mount, there is the 3/4 nut, that might be loose..

Works struts are $269 for the pair, and they valave them to your weight and riding style. The Fox struts from HSP are $280 for the pair and the Kimplex struts are $159. Sorry, I was a little off on the pricing

you might also check your ball joints where the a arm and strut bolt together.

i have had this same problem too.

turned out to be bad ball joints.

When I replace mine, Im going with the Works. If I didnt have the starter problems that I am having right now, I would have bidded on some Works Struts on Ebay a few days ago. They were almost new. One needed t be recharged though. But they went for $50 for the pair
