Just checking to see if this is normal or not.

1. My new 700 EFI starts up fine but for about the first 60 seconds it seems like idle is somewhat a little erratic while it is in the 1100RPM range. It never dies and does stabilize at around 60 seconds to around 1230RPM. No issues with startup when warm. Just checking to see if this is normal.

2. Go down some hills I noticed an occasional squeal. Is this simply the engine breaking system? Not a big deal.. I noticed a few revs and it would disappear. Any ways to reduce this behavior?

3. Part throttle clunking. Is this just a semi clutch engagement condition? Not a problem but just want to make sure this is normal.

All in all a great machine. I got close to a 100 miles in this weekend. Definitely gave the 660 Grizzly I was a good run!!!

 

1. Mine and my friends do the samething, I thought that was kinda high at first but the owners book says its normal

2. Thats the EBS working.

3. Not sure exactly what it is but it is normal, much improved from my old 700 with the loud "pop" sound on take off.

 

Your first question has me a bit interested. You say it starts and idles at about 1100 then goes to about 1230? It should be the other way around. Mine will start and idle about 1300 for a minute and gradually drop down to 1150. Double check this as it may be a fast idle circuit that's not kicking in. Warm weather shouldn't be an issue but come winter it may give you trouble. Good luck from up the road.
