What can be done to lighten up a 500 scrambler? Also, what year bike would be a good starter for a trail bike upgrade project? Instead of dumping a ton of money in a new one I would rather get a older one and use the money I save over a new one to do the mods. It would be used for mainly trail riding. I could use any weight advantage since I am 6'4" and 270.

Do you have any suggestions of which year to start with? Or stay away from. Can you point me in a good direction about aftermarket parts?
