Predator??

I currently have an 2001 Raptor. I'm not very happy with it. I figure it's mainly because it was the first year they made it. By now they probably have all of the kinks worked out. I'm thinking about selling it here pretty soon (As soon as i get it back from the shopisgust I test drove the 500 Predator today and thought it was totallly awsome. But I want to here from someone who ownes one. How does it handle?? have you had any problems with it?? What about after you make mods to it, how well does it do for trail riding, racing, dunes?? I also test drove a 2004 raptor and thought it totally rocked too! That could just be because i'm so used to riding the raptor. Please give me your opinions.

the pred and raptor and 2 good quads... but if you want to get into racing... the predator is your choice... it handles great... alot better than a raptor and the pred is better for fast trails too i think...

I am more comfy on my raptor and i like having reverse, plus with my yoshi pipe...it sounds badass
if i were to look at a predator...i would probably end up going to honda or back to yamaha for there 450's
there is no replacement for displacement

Ya the reverse is a very nice feature, but that predator was still really nice. Just the higher RPM's when shifting really got to me. It's good to hear that it's a good racing quad. What about the dunes?? Have you ever riddin' them in the dunes? I'm not too impressed with the new yamaha 450. I rode it today it it just doesn't feel right. A raptor feels better. The Honda's are nice though. I rode one of those too. The kick start is a negative, but it pretty much kicks butt too. I've heard that the honda will have performance problems after doing some mods to it.

I own a predator only a half of a year and I think it is a great quad. I think it handles great in the trails. Also, the predator has exellent power coming out of that high reving 500cc motor. But, I like the handling of the pred the most. I really recommond the predator.

What about that 50th Anniversary pred. That was the one I rode today. It ROCKED!!! I couldn't believe it. Maybe I'll have to actually rent one and see how it handles off road. I was only able to drive it on the pavement.

Everyone who doesn't own a Predator always comments about the lack of reverse.....the truth is, the extremely sharp turning radius of the Predator almost totally negates the need for reverse. Go ride one and see. Wt of the two is roughly the same. Performance of the two (even w/ the Pred giving up 160cc to the Rap) is pretty even.

I have had my pred for a 2 months now, i have been on quite a few other sport quads the pred is by far the best bang for the buck.. Its super fast stock, handles better then anything else out there, no need for reverse this thing turns on a dime.
