now that im breaking the engine in and im running the oil injector plus 1 ounce of oil for every 1 gallon of gas i didnt think it would run lean. but the engine is making a pinging noise when i let off the throttle from anything more than 1/3 throttle?? can someone tell me what it is and what to do? thanks!!

i think its mixed with 89. can that cuz it to do that?? i didnt think it would matter because i needed to mix it

 

yeah the gas is your problem,you need a higher octane,like 92 or 93..

 

will it be ok to run the rest like it is?? i wanna finish the break in but i stopped cuz the noise

 

im not sure..the reason why i say to run the higher octane gas is because your bike is modded,and i hear once the compression is raised you need the better gas..hopefully someone that actually knows for sure will stop by and let ya know..

 

ya i usually run 93 but i thought it wouldnt matter if i mixed with oil.

 

a modded machine needs high octane fuel,no matter what you do with the oil,its not going to raise the fuels octane level..thats why im thinking its the fuel your using..

 

your probably right i should have thought before i filled it[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img] its done it before in nh but i dont remember what i was running but i actually think i was running 89 cuz thats the highest octane the station had

 

yeah with your head being milled you definitely want at least 92 octane.
