Carb and manual questions...
Couple questions...
For those people running with just a K&N filter and no box, is that bad for wet conditions?
Also, what do y'all use for a manual. I tried to buy one at a dealer (my worthless dealer) and they said all that was available was a Haynes manual. Is that right? They had one of the big polaris manuals there for a another machine but they said they didnt make one for a 400 scramber. Like I said, I think they are worthless, if anyone knows where I can get something else please let me know.

Wow, they are worthless. Any COMPETENT dealer would be able able to order one. You can order it throught the Polaris website too. Stick with the Polaris factory manuals. Also, a filter with no airbox would be bad in wet conditions. I suppose if you have it sealed real well and run a waterproof Outerwears that would help a great deal

The Polaris Service manual is available through the dealer (part # 9916280 is for a 1999-2000 Scram 400 4X4 & 2X4 and also the same # for the 1999-2000 Scram 500). If your dealer won't order you one($30+ a little change), give the folks at partsland.com a call. They handle parts for Polaris quads and I'm sure that they can help you out. The manual has saved me hundreds of $!
