Hello all:
I currently own a Honda Recon ES (first quad) and I think I would like to move up to somthing a little bigger. I am thinking about the Magnum 330 2x4 as I have heard good things. I do mostly average trail riding nothing extreme, just a little escape time each weekend. I really like the Hondas however, they don't make a fully automatic in the price range I'm looking for. With that, anyone have any advice on the Magnum, also is it worth it to get a 4x4 for the type of riding I do, which is most moderate trails and a little mud. I live in the NE and would like to use it in small snow.
Thanks

i've got the magnum 330 4x4 and I love it. Its a pretty smooth ride, and its pretty controllable. My dad will be getting a 400 sportsman soon, and I may take over it
The brakes are phenomenal!!! I think you'll be pleased with it.

I have a 2003 magnum 330 2x4 that i bought in Feb '04. I absolutely love it. I've gone through stuff that most people would think you'd need 4 wheel drive. I was actually surprised. I've been in up to 6 inches of snow and it did well. some times a snowy hill or rocky area that is ice underneath is tough. it seems to handle mud up to about the axle maybe a little more. I'll probably get a winch to be safe but so far no problems and a nice ride. it's got low range which is great for towing, climbing or where traction is poor. the shaft drive is nice with no chain to deal with. good clearance. its a great stable simple machine for a reasonable price. it can go faster than you would want to go on a trail through the woods. Some people are always looking for a machine with a big engine, for what? so it can crush you better when you flip it going too fast down a trail? This Magnum has a bigger towing capacity than most of the 500-650 cc machines check them out. hope this helps.
