Default sustained idle

well I guess that my question was was how long can a non pressurized oil system stay idling? On like a 500 HO engine...they should be able to sit there all day idling with out any problems....I know you wonder why you would let it idle that long but at work that is how it works....well just wondering...

i supose it would be fine... i mean... as long as it has gas to idle... and oil is flowing than it shouldnt hurt it... although i wouldnt reccomend letting the quad idle all day for no reason... it could over heat i supose.

ya think about it, no air moving on it will over heat it for sure.

well if it is designed rite there is no reason that it should over heat with a cooling fan ...

It shouldn't overheat, but it may not have much oil flow to the top end. If it's necessary to leave it idle long periods, be sure it has synthetic oil in it.
