I have a 2004 scrambler. They did away with the "fox shock" on this model year. However you can still set preload of the spring. It is on the lowest setting now and seems a little soft. I want to bump it up. I weigh 190 lbs, what setting is ideal for me? Also is it worth doing? Any help is always appreciated.

What are they using now?On the fox you had to play with the pre-poad to get it right. There was also a set screw that controlled rebound.

I don't know exactly what brand it is. But all it has is a spanner at the base of the spring.

In 2004, they went to a cheaper rear shock, No FOX, they use the shock that they use on the 03 250 Trailblazer.

As for the adjsutment, adjust the preload to what is comfortable for your riding style, and riding area.

If you find it soft and/or it is bottoming out, Tighten the preload

The adjustment will be different for everybody

There should be a tool in your tool kit to adjust the shock/spring tension

Polaris will be bringing back the Fox shock w/ remote rezzi, after the 50th b-day bash. It is going to be available as an accessory. A full 19" of travel....that's the same as the no longer available custom HPD rear shock. You won't find a better bang for the buck magic carpet ride anywhere. P.s. for one lucky soul who can't wait, my HPD shock is available.

How's that piggy back reservoir on the Fox work, my machine has one, do I turn the set screw at the top in for less rebound?
