Default Polaris belts

I have heard that polaris has a life time replacement on their belts. Is this true and how often do you have to change a belt on a polaris? From my understanding, the polaris belts are the best belts out there, but I don't know. Thanks for any info.

On the 2003 (?) and newer they have a lifetime warrenty, well , kinda. The way I understand it is that they wont cover normal wear and tear, like if you smoke a belt because you were in high instead of low range. But, if the belt prematurely goes, they will cover it. I could be wrong though. I have changed my belt a few times. The first time was due to a defective belt literly shreding apart. I have sense experimented with a few other belts and found one that I like. There are some people that have gone thousands of miles a for years on the same belt. I guess it all depends on how you ride and how you take care of it. I would really say that Polaris has the best belts out there. They are however, a heck of a lot cheaper thant he Kawasaki belts. Are people seriously paying over $150 for a belt!!!??? The retail on a Polaris belt is around $40. But, the nice thing is that there are other companies that make belts for them, Gates, Goodyear, and Dayco, to name a few and those range from $20-$60, depending on the type of belt.

My dealer said lifetime limited warranty means they replace it only once for free.
