yeah thats good info to know good post...now get somthing to monitor your oil temp I stuck a temp gauge in my oil resevoir on my sp 500 ho and it read about 180 degrees just after the fan shut off.....why polaris doesnt monitor the most important fluid in the machine, the oil, its beyond me...if you run out of coolant, its fixable, but if you run out of oil you are in trouble......

i have a temp guage on mine.sunpro (automotive) got it hooked in with my lights so i can see it at night.

my fan kicks on at 190. the cool part is, when sitting still, motor running let the fan kick on, it will drop the temp 20 degrees. the fan will turn off at 170. amazing how good that fan actually works!

i also have radiator scoops mounted. the temp guage lets you monitor just how fast the motor cools down when your moving too!

Polaris knows exactly what temps your machines run. The long term engineering and test machines which are on the road daily (logging literally thousands of miles) are wired for sound with monitoring gear. The truth is your average joe could care less...as long as the machine is still running. I'm with you though, that's why I have the Eddie Sander's Racing temp gauge on my Predator. Chris,
Thanks for the great info as usual. My Service manual says the fan comes on at 195, so it's working right. It also says that the fan turns off at 180. The hot light is supposed to come on at 215 at which time you're supposed to turn the quad off.

Thanks for the info and Have a nice weekend.

when your engine does hit 215 degrees, lets say your fan doesnt work properly, is that a warning to turn off your quad or is engine damage already in the process
