Default CLUTCH PROBLEMS!!!!!!

Thanks for all the help. I have a word out to hotseat, we'll see if they get back to me. As far as the spring goes, it came with the grey spring, not sure of the weight size. But I think I am going to get the stock buttons for now. (have a riding trip in a couple of days and I don't have the time to order.) But I think I will get the aluminum ones then perhaps the roller in the future. I was thinking of the 1-2 position but I will try the 2-2 first. I will let you all know how it turns out.

Also.................what should I look for on the belt? Excessive glazing? There are no cracks. Is it a good idea to change it? Thanks

I put a Dayco Max 2 belt on mine and it made a big difference. It grips and wheelies MUCH better now. And, it was cheaper than the OEM belt.

In case you were wondering, the Dayco Max 2 belt part # is MAX1121M2. This is for all NON-EBS Polaris ATV's. If I remember correctly, I paid about $35 through a local snowmobile shop.

That has been a big subject of contraversy. A lot of people run the kevlar belts with out problems. Some have had problems. Thats why I went with a Dayco. It was made for these clutches. I feel a little safer this way. As long as you dont sit there smoking the belt, and you vary your speed (clutch position) often then it should be fine

I've gotten stuck in quicksand and smoked a Dayco maxII with no adverse affect to my clutches. The belt was torn to strips of Arromax cord and was comming out of the vent in pieces. It was more important not to lose the quad under the sand.lol

Default CLUTCH PROBLEMS!!!!!!

I heard back from hotseat today and this is all they had to say:

The buttons that come on those clutches from the factory are very weak. This has happened before to other riders and we have some Teflon coated buttons that are now available...much more durable and last longer.

Thank You,

hmmmm. and they didnt mention anything about winding the secondary? One you get it back together, make sure you wind the secondary the 1/3 turn counter clockwise. And if you are into riding mostly trails, try the spring in the 2-2 position. You will lose a little top end, but it will be much better in the mid range and coming out of a corner. Then , I wouldrecommend eventually upgrading to the HPD aluminum buttons or a roller kit
