whats have u replaced or fixed on your scrambler 500 or 400
I bought my 500 Scrambler new in July of 1998. I traded it in last Aug on my 700. That is five years and approx 4000 miles of abuse. Here is a list of what was added including mods and options:
HPD exhaust system and clutch
K&N filter with jets
HPD air box
DG front bumper (wife took care of the stock one for me)
Douglas .190 rims 12X7 front with 23X8X12 489's
Douglas .190 rims 10X10 rear with 22X12X10 All-Trac's
Polaris electronic speedo
Polaris Rear rack and hitch
HPD foot pegs (broke the right side off the floor board and lost it on the trail)
Things that broke over the five years:
Replaced stock steering bushing with HPD bearing(stock one got really sloppy after only 6mos)
Clutch buttons (2 sets in five years-not bad)
Front and rear break pads (again 2 sets in five years-not bad)
one front strut shock
That's about it, Scrambler 500 was one of the most reliable machines I ever had. Only hope the 700 is as good, so far it's doing great.

You ready for this...I have a 2000 scrammy 4x4...and here is what I have replaced.
Rear brake pads, rear master cylinder, cooling fan, header pipe, key switch, left bar switch, front and back sprocket, and chain...thats all I can think of for now...but I guess it comes out to about 700 bucks of damage....not including down time....but I'm hoping I'm good for a while now.
