i have a mikuni 42mm carb on a pred. which way do you turn the screw to lean or richen it. i was told all the way in was the richest and all the way out is the leanest. so once i get it to idle the best i was also told to turn it in a turn or so. is this true? thanks for any and all replys.

i called a local bike shop (the only one in town i can find to have any good information on the pred) and he told me all the way in is leaner and it works inline with the pilot which only effects 0 up to 1/4 of the throttle. and also it should idlle as low as possible and the bigger the pilot the leaner the mixture screw should be. he recommended about 1/2 of a turn out should work but i found it to rev up and back to idle fastes at about 3/4 of a turn to 1 turn. but thanks for all the info.

Speeedy - Daryl has been playing with that carb a few weeks now. We are planning on running it at the national this weekend in Danville. He is going to run it on the 590 in the Open Pro class. We are taking our main mechanic to the track to do some testing with different jets...check with me on Monday I will have some better answers for you. We are at a 47 pilot jet with a 160 main now, the air fuel screw is the tricky part ours is 1 1/2 turns now. Like I said just check with me on Monday for the final testing and tuning information we come up with.
