I'VE HAD IT WITH MY SCRAMBLER!

Its time to unload that quad. Its a money pit.
Polaris has improved their quality, they had to. Polaris quality wasn't that good back in 1995, its a whole lot better now.
No Polaris won't go down they are making to much money. Polaris is the #2 manufacturer of quads, which are out selling street & dirt bikes combined. They are the #1 seller of snowmobiles and the #4 (last) for personal watercraft. I wouldn't worry about the PWC market, its almost dead.
Good luck on your hunt for a new quad. Don't sell your old one to a friend!

Polaris isnt going down don't get all crazy. Most people have no trouble or not anymore than anyone other manufacturer. I have riden with Polaris owners for the last few years and have been so impressed with yes there durability. Mine have never needed a thing, have gone better so far than the other manufacturers I have owned. Polaris is no 2 and be sure it will be no 1 very soon. They have come along way and they are only going to get better. once people see they are as reliable as the rest, which if not here now the 2001's will certainly change allot of peoples minds, then there will be no reason to buy any other brand. it is well known most Polaris's have a better ride and a better 4x4 system than the rest. add in the fact that the reliability is quickly coming up to parr. Then watch out Polaris will dominate. it is pretty much that simple. As my freind with the AC 500 said at the last poker run we attened "wow, look at all the Polaris's!"
As for recalls they all have them it in no big deal what so ever. Pre 96 were not very good. Even though the ones I know of run great.

Hey lurch77...... I just sold a 97 olaris Expoler, because of the crap that was going wrong with it.
I don't mean to start anything, or get in the middle of anything, but I've gone through over 8 pars of barrings, it only had 3 wheel drive from the time I bought it. The wires for the headlights and dashboard burnt out. You could spit on the ground in front of it and you would get stuck. The chain keeps popping off. The kid that bought it off of me is still puting money in it... (New coil, front hub clutch, etc. etc. etc.) Over$800.00 put into it from the kid that bought it, and over $400.00 put into it from me! Also, I do not beat my quads, in anyway. I wash it every (EVERY) time i get home from a ride...
I finally got smart and bought a Suzuki King Quad... No problems yet!
long live the king baby
00 king quad
97 honda 300 4x4
15 feet of rope, and luck!

I generaly stick around the Polaris forum because its what I know best, But I ventured over to the Hondu forum. Wow! Do you think Polaris owners have problems? Check e'm out. Recalls and break downs galore. I would venture you could take the best of all the ATV manufatures and put them together and some guys couldn't go 50 feet without busting something. If these guys put a $30,000 pickup threw half of what they did their ATV's I would guess they would be junk in a day or two. Hey, if its got mechanical parts you can't wind it up and jump logs and plow threw mud holes day after day and expect it to last forever.

Yep,
I've done my share of complaining also on my first Polaris quad,a 99 500cc Sportsman.Much of it was dealer inflicted. Now I own a 00 Xplorer with over 500 miles and even did 235 of those miles in one wk end.Not a sqeak of a problem from my new Xplorer, im completely happy with it.Just makes us guys think of how we can have such a piece of crap from one quad, than have no problems from another?Maybe my first Polaris was built on Monday?Or perhaps when the guys got back from lunch on a Friday?=====Bill

Hey Hey Hey watch what you say about the PRE 96 polaris, HA lol.... Just kidding. I have a 95 300 and it is a great machine, Not ever a problem it is even on the factory belt yet, and 90% of the time is ridden with two adults on it. I hope my 2000 is as durable as the 95!!

Yes, I can agree. The pre 95 models are not the best. But my step dad has a 1992 350L 4x4. Only thing ever wrong with it was a front hub went out. (Easy fix) This machine is one hard worker too. Mostly used for plowing and pulling fire wood out of the woods. Good machine.
