Defently sounds fuel related. Low on gas? Plugged fuel filter? Crud in the float bowl, that got sucked into the pilot jet?
Make sure you have enough gas, then check the contents of the float bowl. If you find crud in there, then youll have to clean out the carb with cleaner and compressed air. If you find crud in there, install an inline filter if you dont already have one.
If you pull the choke on, will it idle then?

If it idles with the choke on, but dies with it off, then either the idle speed is too low, or the pilot circuit (most likely the pilot jet), is plugged up.
I dont have a polaris, but go ahead and ask, if i can answer it, i will, but if i cant ...someone else can.

well hondabuster i was kinda wondering on the rpm engagement on my 500HO something isnt right and my dealer keeps saying there isnt anything wrong even in the manual it says around 3mph in high range the atv should be running around 1500 RPMS but its more around 2400 and in low range it says it should be doing 300RPMS but its around 3600, when i hammer the throttle the engine quickrevvs before it takes off. if im going 40mph and floor the thing it jumps up to 6200 6400 rpms... again this is normal to the dealer. before i had my clutches replaced the atv would max out at 40 mph now it does 55 but it really revvs high. what i wanted to ask you is what your 500 rpms were acting like but u dont have a sportsman so its almost impossible for you to answer my question lol. thanks for everything

You said they replaced your primary? What about your secondary? It sounds like your secondary might be binding to me. It's definitely not shifting right.

Where in WI do you live? Who's your dealer? If you live close, we can pull your secondary apart and check to see that the sliders are in good condition and that there's no binding happening.

If your clutches are fine, then you have to look at motor mounts...
