i use gas...
some say it isnt good for it... but i have never had any trouble... plus it cleans its ALOT quicker and easier... no waiting for it to dry off after you wash it with the cleaner and water... just rinse... shake.. let sit for 5 mins... re-oil and go...
the cleaner way takes atleast 1.5 hours to completely dry from water.

..........BURP!!....... Sorry

Anyways, yeah. They all covered it. Also, you can get a waterproof Outerwears for your K&N that will not only extend the cleaning periods by keeping mor eof the dirt out, but it is also........well......waterproof

if the KN filter gets wet, it will drip red oil from the filter into the airbox.

I got mine wet when I washed it one time and had a mess the next day in the bottom of my airbox.

You have to use water to clean them,,,,and they must dry completely before being oiled (i leave mine on top of the kerosene heater shield)......and then the red oil must dry,,,,before it can be used
If you are running with wet oil,,,you might be running rich

Its a good idea to have a oiled/dry spare filter handy in a ziploc, if you are going to run K&N
