Listen guys they call it an 800 as a like a new model name...they arn't sayin it has 800cc's....just like you have explorer, expidition, then excursion trucks you have 500, 600, 700, then 800 SP...i am not dissapointed at all...(exctepted for scrammy's didn't get much help)....the new quad has now reastablished polaris as having the biggest and the best...(well thats IMO...no one kan't prove that yet)...and the dual exhaust is so sweet...wish i waited a couple months

How has it re-established polaris as having the biggest and best?????? Yes, it is now the largest cc motor, but that is only by 11cc's!!!!!! And, it would have been more realistic to call it a 750 class atv since that is what it is really is. And as far as the best, the machine hasen't even been released yet. So, until it is and some test are done, no one can make that claim. I happen to like polaris quads, but it is crazy polaris people who make silly statements like this that turn others off. I like most quad mfg's and I believe that each big bore quad has features that might be better than the others, but when there are people flappin their mouths before facts are out there just turn other people off. I would venture to say that the polaris 800 (750) will be a very good quad, but I will wait until the quad even gets here before I say is is awsome or bad.

I understand your statements, but just to put my 2 cents out there. I belive this will be a great quad, and the main reason is, I think Polaris has spent time to do it right. They've been planing there 50th for a long time, and thats what all these new products are. Polaris has added some VERY smart ideas to there Sportsman's. They have also taken care of many of the problems the Sportsman line has had in the past. I think the wight is coming from the new tires, but I could be wrong. I know when Polaris went with the Badlands they lost 20lbs, these could be heavy tires. Time will tell how it does, but I'm glad Polaris did step up....

So what engine is in this 800? Is it the same like the 600 and 700? Or is it a new design?

I went to the celebration yesterday and had a blast riding all of the 4 wheelers. For some reason they wouldn't allow any EFI's to be run through the mud pit, i took a 700 carb. I don't know if they were affraid of one getting wet or if it was what the polaris guy told me, that they wanted to keep them clean for all of the people who didnt to get dirty. I also noticed an extreme amount of driveline clunking while riding an 800 and a 600. my 500ho doesn't do do that and i hope they get that fixed. The steering and ride is well improved from my 2001 and i cant wait to get a new sp800.

the cluncking is normal in the twins, all the 6s, 7s, and 8s do it. And yes they did just want to keep most of the machines clean. the 800 is a fast machine...afterall how many others are faster than the 700 EFI? I can't imagine to many are, my friend ran his up to 70 mph on the GPS the other day.

760 vs 800....Its a name, get over it does an F-150 have 150 anything?
