Let's see in 01 Yamaha sold 30,000 Raptors to about 3,000 DS's yeah I bet the boys at Yamaha are crying still about that beating!

Too each their own. But the Raptor was made to compete with the big bore 'Bomb. Which it failed at. 01 Raptors are a joke, then "farmer" Polaris knocks the Raptor back again. Polaris is no joke any longer. It's Yamaha's engineering, reliability & build quality that's the joke now. My how times change.
haha, just keep telling yourself that. The raptor did compete with the bomb. It was slower, but a better trail machine. I will give credit to polaris for improving the predator every year with significant and meaningful changes. Yamaha's 450 seems to have taken the cake at this point, with almost none of the first year problems that suzuki, polaris, the raptor, and yes, even bomb, had thier first production run.

The Raptor like most Yamahas is a "me too" quad. Yamaha has a great PR dept.
