From reading around and printing the polaris predator brochure. It seems like the new TLDs only are going to be something. With a close ratio tranny and lighter shocks with piggy back rezzies.

I cant wait to see how they do with the new 450s.

I'm still in shock over all the upgrades polaris really out did themselves for 05. That new TLD pred makes me want to put mine up for sale.

Im liking the new red plastic. Not really digging the orange though. But, It does look like a sweet setup now. They should be a lot better out of the hole with the close ratio tranny. I would like to see a race between the standard pred and the new TLD. BTW, the fact that they added reverse and only gained 3 pounds is impressive!!!!

Weight isn't everything, if you got the HP to pull it...

Here is an example:

A fully loaded F-15 fighter weighs 81,000 LBs and has 2 jet engines making 35,600lbs of thrust with no afterburners, with the afterburners at full power they make 58,000lbss of thrust... But yet its still the best thing in the air it has yet to be shot down by an enemy aircraft.

Look at big 60s muscle cars, they were very fast when set up right.

All comes down to power to weight, you can have a 2,000lb quad but if it makes 4,000hp it will be one he!! of a ride...

Weight is an issue but if you know what your doing its not.

yeah anyhting can be built to go fast with enough power. But when a light bike is building the same amount of power its going to be much quicker.

"weight is an issue but if you know what your doing its not" what is that supposed to mean anyone who knows what they're doing realizes that weight is a huge key in going fast and keeps their bikes light.

Weight isn't everything, until you come to the first corner.......
That being said, I wouldn't be worried about an extra 40-50lbs if the quad had the features I was looking for. But then, I don't race moto-cross.

Adding reverse is huge. I think they decided not to try and compete with the low weight race oriented 450's and concentrate on making the best trail quad. This made a very good quad an execellent quad! Everyone can moan and groan that you don't need reverse but any body who rides trails and is dog tired from riding all day and has had to get off and hump it around at that point would take reverse you'd be lieing if you said you wouldn't. If you are racing MX no reverse needed same at the dunes or desert. But trail riding I may only use it once or twice a ride but it's nice to know it's there. I'm sure Predator owners will enjoy it. It also looks like they worked on all the major complaints, Improved seating, better shifting and adding reverse. Nice job Polaris! Can't wait to try one.

I like it too, but not THAT much!!! I think it caught my eye as much as the 04 BAJAX ! That TLD is a bad quad. Why wasn't Polaris making this earlier? Is there new management?

01ds650,

I would like you to take this as a compliment and i do not mean to offend you in anyway and i cant help saying this but you have a very attractive wife

but anyway....................the 05 TLD is ok, i think that the pred motor could be upgraded with titanium valves and springs and it would rock the 450 motor
