well i was going to weld a plate to the frame of my '03 sp 600 and was just wondering what you need to do before you weld to the frame like disconnect the battery or mabey you shouldnt do it at all either, i dont know.....using a wire feed welder if that matters with up to 130 amps.....any ideas??????

You had better disconnect the battery and cdi or you'll be buying a new cdi. I was at a race once and had to weld my frame. I was in such a hurry I forgot to disconnect the cdi, and ended up having to shell out the bucks for a new one.
Prep the area too, and be very careful with the steel tubing. Its realtively thin and you can make a mess in a hurry.
