Default bogging problems

well i went out today and rode on a sandbar and in some mud today and well on the ride there it was on the road and i decided to open it up but when i opened 'er clear up it bogged down and practically died untill i slowed down enough then the power came back and it continued, and later we were riding around on a litlte closed course and the throttle was being real touchy and i know it wasnt running right because i'd barely press the gas and it rev like crazy and take off and then when i'd let off and try to press again it'd bog down, and if i was slowing down and i pressed the gas too far it would definately die.

i know its not the sparkplug or its not running lean, its running a little rich but thats the way i like it just to be on the safe side, the compression is fine and the only thing i could think of maybe is in the carb somewhere something is stick or the mixture screw(btw where is the mixture screw on the polaris 400 sport carb)

thanks in advance

i think it would be the jetting and if you haven't raized the compression 87 octane should be good

well, ya, were both right.... i meant lowering the c clip will richen so raising the c clip will lean it and raising the c clip will lower the needle so were both right we jsut didnt understand each other

You are right , lowering the needle will lean it out. To lower the needle you have to raise the clip...
