Hey, My buddy bought a Pred and it makes a real bad whinning noise though the grears, and when you hit high it gets worse, it sounds like a V8 that is gear to gear, is this normal or not?

 

no... its not normal...

 

The Pred engine is very noisy.

 

ya, it is... but it doesnt give off a sound like described...

 

Could it be the chain roller? when mine was new thats all i could hear was the whinning of the chain roller.

Get going around 30or so, and have him pull in the clutch and roll, if you still hear it, then its the chain roller.
