Has anyone done or now of anyone that swaped out the transmission for an explorer tranny for the low range? I have a 99 500HO and would like to know is this can be done or am I better of getting rid og this one and buying a polaris 500ho sports man? Thanks damian

 

Its been done, I think theres just some linkage issues. I do beleve that a fella with Berts dirt works has one done. on a 400
Try and do a search.

 

anyone have any ideas why my tranny would make noise when i roll the bike in neutral?? it is full of gearcase lube.

 

It had been done. There are a few on the forums that have done it. 425Xpedition did it (although I havent seen him in awhile). I do believe that the shifter needs to be modified though

 

You can do it but you need to change shiftersand linkages along wth the tranny. Scrambler123 check your drive chain and if thats ok pull your clutch cover,put it in gear turn the secondary clutch and see how much slack is in the internal chain.It could be this chain making your noise.
