Default 1986 250R/ES got some questions...

My dad bought one of these things for $200 when i was like 12 or something. Well i went into the shed the other day and kind of got to wondering, what if? I'm now 19 so the thing has been sitting for awhile now, i was just kind of wondering if i could kind of pep this thing up a little to play around with mud/donuts/hanging with all my buddies farm quads/etc.... Now that i've became considerabely more mechanically inclined, i was thinking this thing is a 2-stroke, so there has to be some power to be made somewhere. (pipe, port, just some goodies) The thing is i have a banshee and riding around with my buds on thier farm quads is not really much fun. So i was just kind of wanting the scoop on this motor or particular quad, i mean is there anything i should watch out for, where could i get some performance goodies (if any), does anyone know where i could get some original specs for this thing. I just remember this thing was decently quick at one time, and i just wondering is it possible to make it ast quick or quicker. Thanks for any info.

I would assume they were the same motor. I'm guessing that maybe the cyclone had maybe a little better ported head, or higher compression, or maybe a little advanced timing. Yeah but for being an '87 that sucker was pretty fast, nothing compared to the shee, but it was definitely fun. Does anyone have any idea where i could get some mods? thanks

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!
