You guys probably read more magizines than I do, but I recieved the reprint from 4-Wheel ATV action. The shoot out between the Xplorer 250 and the Yamaha Timberwolf. It quotes: " The Polaris Xplorer 250 folded, spindled and mutilated the Yamaha Timberwolf" No contest from start to finish. Have 3 new "00" Xplorer 250's for sell. $3999 each.

LOL, good one Chopper. I read that article too. Loved it. That is a good machine. I wish it was avaliable when I bought my Trail Blazer.

Rumor has it that honda may make a 4x4 version of the Recon 250. If so, then maybe the Xplorer will have a little compitition. But I feel confident the Polaris (or as my friend likes to say, the "Pull-your-***".....out of anything, that is) will win.

Chopper: I bought one for my wife back in March and I can say it is a great little 250. You would be surprised at it capabilities.

When i was first reading about it last year i thought it was just a "thing" for Polaris to put in that class. BUt then i read it was a two stroke. WIth that "instant" power and true 4x4 capabilities, then i thought it was a real winner! I also read that artical. I liked the part where they said that even though it had an inch less ground clearance than the TW, it would go alot more places than it!!!!! That just made my day. SO POlaris' record is

250 4x4: 1st place
325 4x4: 2nd place (winner Prarie)
400 4x4: 2nd place (winner Kodiak)
500 4x4: 1st place x2 (Sportsman and Magnum)
600 4x4: 1st place x2 (Sportsman and Magnum)

SO if you ask me i think they are the overall best company, but the reliabilty could use a little work.

P.S. Well i sure didnt see any Hondas in their? Did you. Well i guess the Rubicon beat the Magnum?.?

That is a Great price for that machine!

I am doing a piston job and I am replacing the stocker with a Wiseco. Do you have to remove the engine to do the piston swap?

I had one from October till May great machine. I read that article, i could ride with anyone with it. only people that could go over 50 would pull away. 45 riding double 50 by myself. It would beat the Recon too, especially (very brutal quad to ride!) if they kept the same suspension the Recon. a 1996 Magnum 425 4x4 was dead even with me in a race.

chopper,
I was looking at your list of toys. You looked like a great guy. You have Polaris. You have Harley. But then I see this Chevy and GMC thing. What is that. You had the best of ATVs and the best of motorcycles. You could have done better with your trucks.

LOL just kidding man.
